Expert Tips

Real behavioral science, no fluff.

Every tip here comes from the same research that shaped our four Programs — no generic pet-shop advice, just what actually works.

Starter tips

1. Five minutes of sniffing can tire your dog out more than a 30-minute walk. Scent work taps into your dog's most powerful sense and has been shown to help lower heart rate and baseline stress. It's one of the reasons our EXPLORER Program is built entirely around scent-based enrichment.

2. Separation anxiety isn't "bad behavior" — it's a stress response. Punishing it rarely helps. The right kind of enrichment, used consistently, can lower a dog's baseline anxiety over time instead of just distracting them for a few minutes.

3. A tired body isn't the same as a tired mind. Physical exercise alone often isn't enough for high-energy breeds. Mental stimulation — puzzles, foraging, problem-solving — burns a different kind of energy, and it's often what's missing.

4. Not every dog needs the same thing. That's the whole idea behind our quiz: matching your dog's specific behavior profile to the right Program, instead of guessing which toy might help.
